EVERYONE HATES A BAD WEDDING SPEECH

EVERYONE HATES A BAD WEDDING SPEECH

EVERYONE HATES A BAD WEDDING SPEECH!

The good wedding speech, done in the right way, can be a genuine highlight of the reception. Causing strong emotions like tears or laughter, it can be memorable and mentioned during the years and years.

Getting up in front of a crowd isn’t the easiest task to do. Creating a good wedding speech is an extremely delicate job which require balance between saying something funny, but not vulgar, something sweet but not cheap. And trust us, there is nothing worse than a speech that do not captivate at all. This one that leaves you embarrassed and blushing.
How to avoid it and make the whole room roaring with laughter or holding back happy tears?

Ready to raise your glasses to perfect wedding speech? Here are some guides how not come to naught!

If you ever want to be invited to the wedding again, here are some simple steps you just need to follow.

1. It’s not the time to tell embarrassing stories about the bride and groom or their family secrets. Forget their unsavory past. Weddings speeches should be gracious and positive.

2. Don’t tell mother-in-law jokes. You never sure what people will consider come funny and when you can offend them. It’s better to leave this topic behind.

3. It’s also in the good manner not to mention all the ex-girlfriends or ex-boyfriends of the bride and groom and never talk about their previous marriages. This one special day they don’t even want to hear their names, this is sure.

4. And no dramas! If you have any resentment to the newlyweds just keep it for yourself for this one day. It’s not the time for the smutty stories. A few happy tears are wanted but you don’t want anybody to cry during the wedding.

5. This day it’s not about you. Don’t make from this wedding speech the speech about yourself. Your opinion matters but remember that the spot is on the bride and groom and not on you.

6. Do not treat it as your chance to practice your comic skills. A few jokes are good, but make sure they refer to the couple.

7. Don’t go on too long. Remember that there is a content that matters, no length. So, cut it short and leave them longing for more!

NIGERIAN DESTINATION WEDDING IN GREECE

NIGERIAN DESTINATION WEDDING IN GREECE

NIGERIAN DESTINATION WEDDING IN GREECE

Organizing a luxurious destination wedding is always a huge challenge for a wedding planner. It requires a lot of work, an enormous amount of knowledge and endless network connections. Carry out this demanding project to the very end with success is a big achievement.

In Avalon Events Organisation, we love challenges, that’s why destination weddings are simply made for us. Wherever you dreamed your ideal wedding we are eager to help you lead it to the happy ending with the closest attention to every detail.

Our last destination wedding was extremely special. The whole three days of celebration for 200 guests took place in the heart of Athens in Greece. Our lovely couple – Funmi and Larry – and all their guests were Nigerians who traveled from far away to celebrate this amazing event in the beautiful surroundings of Greece. This destination wedding in Greece was a genuine mixture of different cultures which in fact created an amazing experience. We couldn’t wait to tell you more about it!

This wedding was like a fairytale with love, laughter, dance and cordiality in the background.

The first day has a character of introduction to the Greek culture. A picturesque walk in the heart of antique Athens got everybody in the mood.

In beautiful and traditional Taverna in Plaka in Athens, couple, their family and friends enjoyed typical Greek cuisine. An excellent meal was accompanied by the sounds of traditional Greek music. One of the attractions was Greek sirtaki dancers. They were dressed in three different traditional Greek outfits. Their performance included a dance show, as well as, a dance lesson. It was a funny and engaging experience and everybody simply loved it.

Another Greek tradition was “plate smashing”. The couple broke plates, what in Greek tradition symbolize a new beginning. Funmi and Larry threw away their old life and embraced a new one together. To commemorate this evening couple and their guests had a photo session at the bottom of Parthenon.

The second day of this amazing celebration started in an unusual way. The couple and their closest friends and family headed for new kind of amusement. They spend the afternoon in the “Great Escape Room” in the center of Athens. It was a lot of fun and apparently, everybody loved it.

The evening passed under the sign of the great celebration. We organized a “Fire and Ice” party at the seaside Greek restaurant. The rules were simple. All the men were dressed in red and all the women in white.

All the decorations were also in white and red with the arrangements that symbolized this two elements. All the guests were welcomed by Eros and Aphrodite with wings, arch and love-arrows.

The other attractions of this amazing evening were a magician who surprised the couple on their entrance and stilt-walkers. The main highlight of the party’s entertainment was a skillful artist who played with fire. His amazing performance got a great applause. The whole evening was full of fun, laughter and of course, DANCE accompanied by extremely gifted DJ from London.

The Big Day started with lots of scrupulous preparations.

It was so special, given the bride had twelve bridesmaids and “Belles du Jour” on her side. Pimped up with some champagne and girls talk the whole morning was a pure fun. The specialists from London took care that the bride and her team looked flawless.

The couple got to the church by two vintage cars in the cream colors, one for the bride and her papa (dressed in traditional Nigerian outfit), one for the groom and his mom. Bridesmaids and groomsmen were taken by two minivans.

The ceremony took place in the catholique Greek church.

After the moving ceremony, refreshments and Greek finger food were served. Then all the guests were taken to the reception. Before the party has begun the couple had a stunning photo session outside the venue with their stylish, vintage cars.

The arrival of the couple to the reception was purely magic and beautiful. It was made in the authentic Nigerian style. The couple and their maids were dancing while entering the venue led by the master of ceremony dressed in the traditional Nigerian outfit. It was joyful and full of happiness scenery.

The whole wedding was simply filled with dance and never ending fun. It was also very emotional and moving. The speeches given by friends and family were very touchy, showing love and attachment.

Wedding menu was composed of five international meals and buffet. The cake was served in the garden accompanied by lights and sparkles which added a lot of charm and magic to that special night.

Venue decorations were chic and elegant. The colors were white and gold with loads of beautiful white flower, candles and mirrors. Loving couple was sitting alone at the long table on the stage like King and his Queen.

This luxurious destination wedding in Greece was really special. Funmi and Larry got our hearts forever. We will remember for a long, long time how they were dancing, laughing and enjoying this special moment. Simply beautiful.

DESTINATION WEDDING TRIP TO THAILAND

DESTINATION WEDDING TRIP TO THAILAND

DESTINATION WEDDING TRIP TO THAILAND

Being to Thailand was one of the best exploring experiences ever. Getting to know this culture from the closest range was like stepping into another world. We have never seen so many kind and polite people living in peace and in respect for their traditions and religion. Their culture taught us how to keep calm, find a peace and never stop being grateful.

Walking the streets of Phuket and Bangkok we were searching inspiration for our future destination weddings in Thailand. This country offers so many luxurious locations and venues, beautiful surroundings, excellent food and endless fresh flowers.

The main highlights of our inspirational trip were site inspections of the magnificent, totally unique venues. Sun, sea views, luxury, exotic and spacious, we can find it all there. After all the verifications that we have done, we can certainly constant that we found perfect luxury destination venues for our future couples.

The next stop of our trip was beautiful floral market in Bangkok. With thousands of different kinds of colorful flowers, we made sure that we will find there something for every bride and groom. Local fresh flowers will assure the exotic and majestic character of every celebration.

While being to Thailand we were very focused on their culture and everyday behaviors. The simplicity of Thai living got our hearts. There was especially one of their rituals that charmed us a lot and stuck in our memories. It was “Water Pouring Ceremony”. This ceremony, even if is practiced in everyday situations, is strongly associated with weddings. According to Thai tradition, it is the most important part of the Thai wedding ceremony. It signifies that the couple officially becomes husband and wife. In the past days, it was the only one requirement of the marriage to be valid.
The ceremony is not only purifying, symbolic but is also very beautiful. The bowls are full of flower arrangements and fresh petals.

The water ceremony is usually performed by all guests older than the couple. They pour a conch shell full of holy water from the Buddhist ceremony over the couple’s hands. While doing this they offer them blessings and advices.

Each of these places is exceptional and has its particular charm. Whichever you chose you can be sure that this journey will be unforgettable.

We loved this idea so much that we already bought the “Water Pouring Ceremony” Bolls for our future couples. We always search for something extraordinaire to offer, this time we found this beautiful ritual which will adds an exotic and fresh touch to every wedding celebration.

Thailand will rest in our hearts forever. We felt in love with its culture and beautiful surroundings. If you have any questions regarding this area or other destinations we offer, please do not hesitate to contact Avalon Events Organisation. We will be more than happy to talk with you.

The name that get rubbed off by the end of the night is the next Bride-to-be!

3. "Issaia Choreve"

During the ceremony, the Bride and Groom are unified with traditional Wedding bands that are like crowns. They are then led around the table by the priest three times as a symbol of joy.

4. Stomp on the Groom’s feet

Another funny Greek tradition is Bride trying to squash the Groom’s foot during the wedding ceremony. The story behind this behavior is very simple. If the Bride manage to step on her Groom’s foot, she will have the upper hand during the Marriage!
