3 REASONS WHY I LOVE DESTINATION WEDDINGS

3 REASONS WHY I LOVE DESTINATION WEDDINGS

I honestly feel so happy when I have a trip coming up in my agenda. I think it’s so exciting to step off a plane in a new place (or a beautiful one I’ve visited before). So for this reason, planning a destination wedding really excites me!

THE WEATHER

WE GET TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

A destination wedding is an excuse to break away from wedding traditions. You can think outside the box. Experiencing a new culture and taking on some of their traditions is a great way to add a unique twist to your wedding day.

SPENDING LONGER WITH THE WEDDING PARTY

I always think destination weddings are lovely as (most of the time) the wedding party is quite small. The pressure is off having to spend time going round everyone because there’s less people, less stress for the couple. We get to also control how the day is going and make sure everyone is taken care of!

Would you get married abroad? Did you get married abroad? What are your pro’s and con’s to a destination wedding?

Tips for Planning The Ultimate Destination Wedding Weekend

Planning a wedding abroad seems daunting for every new engaged couple. We know that, we heard that.
We are here to give you a helping hand. And some tips for planning the perfect wedding destination abroad.

Hire a Planner

We all know this is our top tip whenever we give you advice on weddings and corporate event organisation. No matter the location, if you need something to be done 100% satisfaction guaranteed, we recommend hiring a wedding planner.

Securing Your Date and Guest Accommodations

Dates and locations are crucial when planning a destination wedding. Please make sure you book your event and your guests room in advance and plan ahead for any inconveniences that may occur. Two weeks before the actual event, email aor call the venue and hotel to make sure the reservations are still ok. We know this step is also a hustle, if you don’t want to manage the stress, leave it to a planner.

Don’t Skimp on Guest Care

You need to take care of your guests. Not only on your wedding day, but also throughout their stay.

Make an itinerary for them if some come earlier or would like to extend their stay.

Or call us to take care of everything.

EXPERT ADVICE: SHOULD YOU THROW A DESTINATION WEDDING?

EXPERT ADVICE: SHOULD YOU THROW A DESTINATION WEDDING?

EXPERT ADVICE: SHOULD YOU THROW A DESTINATION WEDDING

Home or Away? Today this is the question. We are giving you some real talk on destination weddings and if you are ready to get involved into an adventure like this.

Hands-on Approach

When getting married at home, wedding planning can feel easier to manage and control; you can pop over to the venue as and when you want, you may have suppliers in mind already and it’s unlikely there will be any language barrier.

You can take a very hands-on approach if you so wish.

So if you like adventure, if you are a hands on couple, it will be much easier!

If however, you’re happy to pass your wedding planning woes onto a professional who can assist, then a destination wedding is absolutely worth your consideration.

Legalities

If you’re getting married at home then your options for the ceremony should be fairly straightforward.

But restrictions in your chosen destination that limit whether you can have a legally recognised wedding either in the country or more specifically within the grounds of your chosen venue.

Rules may differ from your home country, and will vary based on the type of ceremony that you want, so make sure you do your research on this before committing. Research or let a wedding planner deal with it.

What are Your Reasons?

You need to establish your reasons as to why would you like to travel abroad and plan this.

Is it because you love your chosen destination? Have a specific vision for your wedding? Have special memories there?

If yes to any of the above, then these are the right reasons to think about getting married abroad – it’s what you want, and ultimately that is what your wedding is about.

Above everything, the deciding factor really should be what is right for the two of you? Usually, when you stick to this principle, everything else falls into place as it should.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Planning a Destination Wedding

The Do’s and Don’ts of Planning a Destination Wedding

The Do’s and Don’ts of Planning a Destination Wedding

Planning a destination wedding can be the best decision you ever make as a couple.  But keep in mind it can also be overwhelming and stressful if you don’t know what to expect.

We have gathered a list of things you should and shouldn’t do when planning a destination wedding.

THE DO'S

  1. Do a site visit

Make time to talk to your wedding planner about doing a site visit so you can all explore the area, the culture, the weather and even the vendors.

 2. Arrive a few days before

A destination wedding planner will tell you to come a few days early so you can approve and check to see if everything looks ok for your big day. But most importantly, it will give you some time to relax and enjoy a mini vacation with your guests.

THE DON'Ts

  1. Don’t stress about rsvp’s.

No matter how much you would like to know who is coming and who isn’t, the truth is you cannot control this process. Hopefully, the people you care about the most will be there. But trust me (and nearly every destination bride before you) when we tell you that the day of your wedding you will be so caught up in the moment and will be having so much fun that you won’t care about who didn’t make it.

 2. Don’t ship anything important.

We are talking about the wedding dress, papers, documents that you need on your wedding day. You will be taking a very big risk that your package gets held up in customs for weeks, lost in transit or stolen.

 3. Don’t worry

Remember that something will go wrong.  It happens to everyone! You have to roll with the punches and enjoy the moment.  You’ll set the tone for the day. If you’re having fun, your guests will too. If you’re not enjoying yourself, they won’t either.
