Food & Wine

Corsica is able to produce and deliver its own food and cuisine. From black-pig to boar, veal to fishes; From yummy and seasonal vegetables to succulent fruits and fresh milk; From local cheese (goats, cows) to local charcuterie; From wine to sparkling wine.. And be sure that locals will take time to share with you their heritage on their cuisine.

Hospitality

When it comes to picturesque settings, it’s hard to get the better of Italy. Incredible lakeside villas, secluded castles and panoramic chapels are scattered throughout the region providing ideal venues for breathtaking and stylish Italian weddings.

Weather

Corsica is very hot in summer, mild in spring and autumn and rude during winter. Best period to plan a destination wedding in Corsica: from April to November.

TOP 5 REASONS TO MARRY IN CORSICA

TOP 5 REASONS TO MARRY IN CORSICA

TOP 5 REASONS TO MARRY IN CORSICA

Today on the blog, we would like to take you on a special and beautiful journey… somewhere where the sun is always up ; somewhere where the water meets the mountains; somewhere where you beautiful brides would love to say the big “I DO”.

And while we’re there you’re going to find out the top 5 reasons why you should marry in Corsica!

1. THE BEAUTY OF AN ISLAND. SEA AND MOUNTAINS

White sandy beaches, clear water but also the mountains, deserts and forests… Corsica’s landscapes are all amazing and pretty wild. Corsican’s have protected their terrain very well so there isn’t much construction and still lots of wild spots to discover.

2. PERFECTLY LOCATED

A quick short history background: Corsica is a French island located between the south east of France and Italy where the sun shines almost every day of the year. It is accessible by boat from France (Nice, Toulon or Marseille are the closest ports) or only 50 minutes by plane from Nice and 90 minutes from Paris.

3. THE CULTURE

We had an amazing time traveling there and we learned a lot about Corsican culture. One thing that stood out for us was the fact that they have many vines all around the island, it is worth taking to the road, discovering beautiful landscapes and tasting great flavours. You could not get married in Corsica without your guests sampling this typical food which make Corsican people so proud. You should also definitely hear their music and/or have musicians at your wedding. There are many places where you will meet with musicians (most of the time guitar and voice) who will sing old songs which are 100% part of their culture and history.

4. HOLIDAY FOR YOUR GUESTS

This island offers many possibilities to allow your guests to enjoy their holiday. Some of the best hiking spots from France are located in Corsica, and renting a bike or a quad bike for the day is a good way to explore the island. For those who would prefer the water they can have lunch or dinner on the beach, rent a boat for a day and go scuba diving. They can also do shopping or music festivals. We promise you there is no way that they will get bored!

5. SO MANY VENUE OPTIONS

A wedding in Corsica looks pretty much like a wedding in paradise. There are amazing villas with huge gardens, perfect to stay for a week and to organise a beautiful reception where your guests can feel at home.

If you expect many guests, private hotels are also very good options so you have quality and luxurious services for your guests and can have your wedding on the beach or around a swimming pool.

Beach weddings are very easy too. Many beach clubs provide this service, where you can hold a ceremony on the beach, arrive with a boat, have a cocktail with your feet in the sand and dance all night with a great feeling of freedom.

Behind the Scenes of a Wedding Planner

Behind the Scenes of a Wedding Planner

behind the scenes of a wedding planner

Ever wonder what it would be like to have the glamorous life of a wedding planner and helping cute couples tie the knot?

Well,  we have the inside scoop.

1. IT IS NOT LIKE YOU SEE IT IN THE MOVIES

You may have watched movies like the “Wedding Planner”, “27 Dresses”, or even “Revenge of the Bridesmaids”, which makes wedding planning seem a lot more glamorous and exciting than it actually is.

You have to think of wedding planning as a business. In today’s age, you need to market your company and be on top of your social media game in order to get customers and keep up your reputation.

There is a lot of work involved and most of it is contacting different vendors and assisting with contracts and Banquet Event Orders. While you do get to see many different venues, you will learn to hate driving far distances as part of your work. Also, I hate to break it to you but you will most likely not be at the cake tasting with your clients. You will direct them where to go, set up the appointment, and then they will report to you later on which cake they chose.

2. CONNECTIONS ARE NEEDED

Just like any business, your success relies on your connections. In the wedding planning world, everyone begins to know everyone in the industry. You have to be familiar with all of the different locations in your area, wineries, caterers, bakers, florists, DJs, and tent rental companies in the area.
Over time, you will get to know the work method of all these different places and attend a lot of open houses and bridal shows. Bridal show season will make you very busy, especially on weekends.
So connections are essential in this business. You have to know managers, you have to know different people at the city hall, you hav eto get different permits so wedding planning involvs a lot of logistics 🙂 sorry 🙂

3. WEDDING PLANNING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE

Let’s be honest here: wedding planning business s not for everyone. Not every old stay-at-home-mom can do this job.
First of all, you need to be a planner. If you’re not an organized person, you will never be able to put together a whole wedding, never mind juggling 4 or 5 weddings at once. Your job is to make sure your clients are on the right timeline in wedding planning and keep track of all the details for them. In addition, your company will not be just wedding planning but corporate events, too.  You need to have a strong, take-charge personality in this business because you’re going to have to be the go-to person who organizes the bridal party, wedding rehearsal, setup, and clean-up on the wedding day. Lastly, you need to be able to give advice to your couples, which brings me to my next point.

4. YOU WEAR MANY HATS

This business require wearing many different hats. The biggest thing we learned during the many years we have done this is we often have to play couples counselor. Many times, wedding planning brings up arguments between couples and as the wedding planner, you have to help them compromise. You have to be the mediator with mothers trying to take charge, divorced parents not agreeing to sit near each other, and bridesmaids being difficult. Your job is to stand up for the bride and groom since it is their day.

At the end of the night, your job still isn’t done as you have to make sure the clients tip and the venue is properly cleaned up before you leave.
